record an expense

Record each purchase when you make it. The envelope you spent from goes down by that amount, so it always shows what’s left.

1. Tap + (add transaction) in the tab bar.
2. expense is already chosen at the top. Type the amount.
3. Tap next on the keypad.
4. On pick an envelope, tap the envelope you spent from.
5. Optional: tap the date to change the day.
6. Optional: tap what was it for? to add a note.
7. Tap add transaction.

You’ll see expense saved, with the envelope’s emoji and the amount.

The keypad fills the cents first. To enter $12.50, type 1, 2, 5, 0.

The date can be any day from the start of your current budget until today.

start from the envelope

1. On the envelopes tab, tap the envelope you spent from.
2. Tap the + button. The envelope is already filled in.
3. Type the amount.
4. Tap add transaction.

if you spend more than the envelope holds

The app still saves the expense. The envelope goes below $0.00 and shows spent more than was stuffed. To cover it from another envelope, see move money between envelopes.
