budget periods and paydays
A budget period is the time between one budget you create and the next one you create.
Your next budgeting date is a reminder to make a new plan. It does not remove the money in your envelopes.
an example
Section titled “an example”You budget every second Friday. You start with $200 in groceries and spend $150 before the next Friday. Groceries has $50 left.
When you make the next budget, that $50 carries forward. If you add $100, groceries will have $150.
If you wait until Saturday to make the new budget, your existing budget still works on Friday. Spending keeps coming out of the same envelopes until you create the next budget.
where it shows in the app
Section titled “where it shows in the app”In budget timing, budget next on is the next date you plan to budget. Your choices are every week, every second week, twice a month or once a month.
Your budgeting schedule can follow a payday. You can also record more than one payday during a budget period. Recording income alone does not start a new budget.
Starting a new budget early ends the current period when you save it. If your next budgeting date is still in the future, the app keeps that date.
You choose when to start again. Leftover money carries forward, and an overspent envelope stays below zero until money covers it.
