stuffing and money ready to stuff

Money ready to stuff is money you have recorded but have not put into an envelope yet. Stuffing gives that money a purpose.

You have $200 in groceries and $100 in transport. Then you record $500 of income without choosing an envelope.

You now have $800 in total. Of that, $300 is already in envelopes and $500 is ready to stuff. The $500 is part of your money, even while it waits outside your envelopes.

If you put $300 of that income in groceries and $200 in transport, groceries will have $500 and transport will have $300. Nothing is left to stuff.

After you enter income without an envelope, the save button says ready to stuff when you budget next.

On envelopes, a card shows the amount followed by unstuffed, with a stuff now button. Here, “unstuffed” means ready to stuff.

The budget recap shows you have, the total the app has recorded. It includes money already in envelopes and money ready to stuff. Check that total before you finish a new budget.

Stuffing moves money into your envelopes in the app. It does not make a bank transfer or record new income a second time.

Record income when it arrives. To divide it between your envelopes, stuff your envelopes.
