move money between envelopes

A transfer takes money out of one envelope and puts it into another. Your total stays the same.

1. Tap + (add transaction) in the tab bar.
2. Tap transfer at the top.
3. Type the amount.
4. Tap next on the keypad.
5. Choose the envelope the money comes from.
6. Tap next again.
7. Choose the envelope the money goes to.
8. Optional: tap the date to change the day.
9. Optional: tap what was it for? to add a note.
10. Tap add transaction.

You’ll see money moved, with the two envelopes’ emoji and the amount.

cover an envelope that went over

When you spend more than an envelope holds, it shows spent more than was stuffed and a move money button.

1. On the envelopes tab, tap move money under the envelope. You can also open the envelope and tap move money there.
2. The amount is already filled in: enough to bring the envelope back to $0.00. To move a different amount, type it.
3. Tap next on the keypad.
4. Choose the envelope the money comes from.
5. Tap add transaction.

where transfers show

A transfer shows on the day you recorded it on the overview calendar, and on both envelopes. It is not in money in/out, because no money came in or went out.
