add, edit or reorder envelopes

create a new envelope

A new envelope starts at $0.00.

1. On the envelopes tab, tap … at the top right.
2. Tap create new envelope.
3. Tap the 💵.
4. Choose an emoji.
5. Type a name in envelope name.
6. Under envelope type, tap variable envelope, fixed envelope or savings envelope.
7. Fill in the fields for that type. They appear under it.
8. Tap save envelope.

What each type asks for:

• variable envelope: nothing more. For spending that’s different each time, like groceries.
• fixed envelope: a payment amount and a payment schedule. Both are needed. See set up a bill.
• savings envelope: a goal amount, and a goal deadline if you turn on set a goal deadline. Both are optional.

save envelope works once the envelope has an emoji, a name and the fields its type needs. Not sure which type to pick? See envelope types.

change an envelope’s type

You can change an envelope’s type at any time.

1. On the envelopes tab, tap the envelope.
2. Tap edit at the top right.
3. Under envelope type, tap the new type.
4. Fill in that type’s fields.
5. Tap save envelope.

When a fixed envelope becomes another type, its payment schedule and upcoming bills are removed. When a savings envelope becomes another type, its goal amount and deadline are cleared.

A retired envelope has no edit. Restore it first.

reorder your envelopes

You can move an envelope within its group: variable envelopes, fixed envelopes or savings envelopes.

1. On the envelopes tab, touch and hold an envelope.
2. Drag it to its new spot in the same group, then let go.

To move an envelope to another group, change its type.
