How to Record an Expense

Ok, so you've just made an expense and now you want to record it in the app to keep your envelopes balanced. It's crucial to do this every time you make a purchase to maintain an accurate budget. Recording expenses also lets you track how much money you have remaining in each envelope. Here's how you can record an expense.

  1. From the main screen, tap the '+' button
  2. Input the total amount of the expense
  3. Select 'Expense'
  4. Optionally, add a description for reference
  5. Select the date of the expense (default is today's date, but you can adjust if necessary)
  6. Choose the envelope from which the expense was made
  7. Press 'Add Transaction' to confirm and update your budget
